A dress of sadness and happiness

I don’t like to wear dresses, so I only get them for special occasions. MY wedding was one of these occasions. The idea of going dress shopping was not one I looked forward to. I tried on several dresses but faith told me this was the one as while the store changed to reception lighting my soon to be wedding song was played.

I had taken a picture of myself in my dress to show my grandmother who was in the hospital. Unfortunately, she past away before I was able to get it to her and so the first time my friends and family got to see me in my wedding dress was in a picture, at the funeral. I left the picture for her to take with her. This was a touching moment for everyone.

But the day of my wedding, the dress looked amazing on and even better than in that initial saddened moment. This day it brought much happiness and many happier pictures. I will never forget my wedding day and the dress that brought both sadness and happiness to it. I am now saving the dress to pass along to my sister for her wedding day.
