As a woman in her 30's I am still young enough to want trendy, fashionable clothes, but old enough to NOT want to show the 3 B's ( Butt, Breast and Belly Button ) all the time! All the cute tops seem to be either to short or to tight and what is with those LOW Rise Jeans, any lower and they may as well NOT cover my butt at all!
First B is BUTT! I have found some jeans that are fashionable and cute at Kmart but you really have to dig to find them, they are buried beneath the butt crack bearing variety and the "mom jeans". The fashion world seems to have forgotten the middle ground between teenagers bearing it all and old women covering it all with bad floral prints and mumus! Another great place to look for us "Inbetweeners" Is Old Navy and Gap, they sell jeans in different styles, try on all the styles in your size to find a great fit and stick with it!
The next B is BREASTS... seriously, if those V neck shirts get any lower my other B, the Belly Button might show! I am all for a little cleavage to show but some of those shirts out there are a bit much! As a mom of 2, I have good... assets... in this department but that doesn't mean I want the whole world to see them at every moment. The other problem is that shirts are now cut tighter in this area making the shirts fit very snug and making it hard to find shirts that flatter rather than flaunt! Avoiding the "baby doll" cut is getting harder and harder these days, even dress shirts are being designed this way. Again the Gap deserves a mention for having SOME shirts that fit well, but they also cater a lot toward the young crowd, so you have to look to find good ones! Sears and JC Penny also carry some wonderfully cut tops.
Now for the last B, the Belly Button. I don't know about you but I like a shirt not to "bare all" when I lift my arm above my head! LOL Look for tunic length or cut shirts. A lot of those cute tees out there are cut shorter than you might think, so when you try them on make sure to lift your arms up to make sure you are well covered LOL!
