How to Dress to Disguise a Large Middle

Being a very short woman at just over five feet tall, I dress to disguise the fact that my waist and tummy are too large for my short stature. My arms and legs are very small but I have been plagued with my too large mid-section since I was a teenager.

Through the years I have found that the most flattering way for me to dress is to wear dark, solid colored skirts or slacks with jackets or blouses or shorts that do not tuck in.

Some of my favorite outfits will consist of back slacks worn with a blazer or jacket that comes just below the waist. I prefer to wear tank tops of appropriate colors and fabrics under my jackets because they do not add a lot of bulk.

I really enjoy this way of dressing because the combination of colors and prints for tops is endless and wearing the darker skirts and slacks does not call attention to the worst part of my figure.

I find it is possible to dress casually or dressy using this method. Also, when I travel, it is very easy to mix-and-match with a minimal amount of clothing. I know that this method of dressing works for me because of the number of comments I get about how small I am!
