Makeover following a heartbreak

When I was 22 years old I had a very casual style, and didn't really give much thought to my look. I mostly wore jeans, t-shirts and jumpers and had my long hair pulled back in a ponytail cause it was the least trouble that way.
And then came the day when my live-in-boyfriend dumped me and broke my heart.

Not only was I suddenly single and heartbroken, I was homeless as well. After getting over the initial panic and finding a place to stay (with a friend of mine), there came a short period of incessant crying. And then I finally decided that the scumbag wasn't worth crying over anymore and it would be far better to make him see just what he was missing out on.

So I restocked my wardrobe completely and started wearing short (yet classy) skirts with thick woolen tights (since it was winter) and high heeled leather boots and some nice little tops and shirts. I stopped wearing my hair in a ponytail all the time and let it fall loose on my shoulders and took extra good care of it to make it shine and look soft and touchable. I even started wearing a hint of makeup every day.

In the end, I do believe I managed to make my ex see that he'd given up a total hottie. But more importantly, I felt really good about myself, and got more self-confident and didn't have to waste my time mourning that guy.
