A sundress is an informal dress of any shape in a lightweight fabric, most commonly cotton, intended for summer wear.

It is usually sleeveless made out of cotton or a blend of cotton and polyester. The typical one has a scooped neckline. As you can imagine, they are normally worn in hot weather, but you can also wear them in spring, weather permitting.

Sun dresses can be fancy or quite plain and be worn either alone, or some women prefer to wear a t shirt or another sleeveless top under the dress and color coordinate the two. These dresses really are great if you are going somewhere when you don't want to wear short or jeans as the sun dress can cover a multitude of problems with figures and you'll always be cool, comfortable and stylish.

Most sun dresses are a breeze to care for as long as the dress has polyester in it so ironing is not a chore. You will find that these dresses are usually acceptable to wear in restaurants for casual evening wear.
