THE GLORIOUS INDIAN WEDDING

We got married in New Delhi in India. We were going around for the last five years and one fine day we decided to get married. My girlfriend and me decided that we'll both wear red for our wedding and accordingly we got traditional india wedding costumes made for our wedding. She wore a Red Lehnga(the traditional Indian wedding gown) and i wore the Sherwani(the traditional Indian wedding suit). She wore lots of jewellery and i wore a turban with a feather and a broach. It was summer when we got married and summers could be really hot here in India. We were wearing such heavily embroidered heavily decorated clothes and they were really uncomfortable. But we wanted to look good and matchy, so we decided to wear these outfits.My wife did not realise that it could get so uncomfortable that she could faint becuase of hot weather.While she was coming to the dias to put the garlands to me(a ritual of indian wedding) she almost fainted becuase of heat. I got so scared and thought that she has changed her mind to marry me or she is not too sure about it. She was taken to her room and the doctor was called in. The doctor examined her and said it was nothing but a heat stroke and she fainted becuase she was wearing clothes which were really uncomfortable. Everybody told her that she could change the dress if she is feeling uncomfortable but she refused.She really wanted to get married to me in that dress.After few minutes she again came to the dias and put the garlands on me and finally i got a sigh of relief that she was still with me wanting to marry me. So i have such beautiful memories of our wedding even if it happened in clothes which were not that comfortable.
