There was a wedding dress for me after all

After trying on an endless line of wedding gowns that were too long, too short, too poofy, too white or simply not made for my body type, I was at wit's end. I'm not a big, white dress kind of girl. Everyone told me that I'd just "know" when I found the right dress for me, and I was starting to have my doubts.

Finally, my mother (whom I was visiting from out of town) took me to a bridal shop and starting throwing random gowns onto the try-on rack. I looked at each one critically and found something wrong with every one. I told her, "It's too formal," "It's too expensive!" and finally, that "I don't like lace!" She looked me in the eye and told me, "Just try it on!"

Well, as it turned out...I do like lace! When I put on that gown I suddenly didn't look like a girl trying to wear a big, white dress. I looked like royalty! The dress made me look good and more myself than anything I've ever worn. I finally "knew" what dress was for me, just as everyone had been telling me all along. I now truly believe that, as fantastic as it may sound, every bride will find that moment when she puts on a gown and knows that it is the one for her.
