Yellow? Yes Yellow Wedding Dress!

Where I am from everyone wears white on their wedding day. You can get away with eggshell or cream and any colors sash and accessories you like, but the dress itself is meant to be white. Well I never liked the idea of having the same color dress as everyone I ever met. When I was a little girl I decided I wanted a yellow dress with green trim.

A lot of my ideas about marriage had changed since I was a kid, but when I met my husband I was still adamant about that yellow dress. His favorite color was blue and he insisted that it be reprented in the wedding. I would not agree until I found compimentary shades of blue and yellow. I finally found them on a splenda packet. The perfect shade of pale yellow and royal blue! We later added baby blue to the color scheme as well.

The friend who made my dress was very hesitant about my colors at first, but after her first trip to the fabric store she was really excited. She had to admit that the colors really popped. The dress was absolutely perfect and I felt like a princess. Everyone complimented my original colors and my nieces told me I looked like a Disney Princess.
